Sisters Blanket

The Sisters blanket underscores the need for community. Sometimes we are blessed to have
sisters who are best friends and other times we gather sisters as we go through life. The vastness of
Montana makes it hard for friends to get together regularly. It takes a toll. These are tough times –
politically, economically, and ultimately emotionally. The Montana Department of Agriculture has
teamed up with Northern Broadcasting System for a program called “Beyond the Weather”. It seeks to
break the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage Montana ag communities to seek assistance
with stress management by moving beyond just talking about the weather. It is a great program!

Ultimately, though, the best thing we can do is put down our phones, look in another’s eyes,
and really see them and hear them. We need to live intentionally and wrap up in the warmth of family,
friends, and neighbors. Maybe this blanket can be part of those times together or an end-of-the-day
pause in the stress of life. Either way, we hope it is a comfort and brings you joy.
